We searched for proton decay via $p\to\mu^+K^0$ in 0.37\,Mton$\cdot$years of data collected between 1996 and 2018 from the Super-Kamiokande water Cherenkov experiment. The selection criteria were defined separately for $K^0_S$ and $K^0_L$ channels. No significant event excess has been observed. As a result of this analysis, which extends the previous search by an additional 0.2\,Mton$\cdot$years of exposure and uses an improved event reconstruction, we set a lower limit of $3.6\times10^{33}$ years on the proton lifetime.

  1. LUNAR: a Monte Carlo generator for bound-nucleon decay in liquid argon

    hep-ph 2026-06 accept novelty 7.0

LUNAR is a new open Monte Carlo generator for bound nucleon decays in argon-40 that models Fermi motion, off-shell binding, and intranuclear cascades to predict meson spectra for DUNE nucleon-decay searches.

  2. Dark Matter Induced Proton Decays

    hep-ph 2025-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0

A framework unifies dark matter stability and proton decay via residual Z4 symmetry from U(1)B+L breaking, with one-loop proton decay mediated by TeV-scale dark sector particles whose masses correlate with proton lifetime.

    hep-ph 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Extended SU(5) GUT with 45 Higgs and DFSZ axion uses one-loop unification to correlate proton decay modes with axion mass and couplings.
