We review the subject of central exclusive particle production at high energy hadron colliders. In particular we consider reactions of the type A + B -> A + X + B, where X is a fully specified system of particles that is well separated in rapidity from the outgoing beam particles. We focus on the case where the colliding particles are strongly interacting and mainly they will be protons (or antiprotons) as at the ISR, SppS, Tevatron and LHC. The data are surveyed and placed within the context of theoretical developments.

  1. Proton reconstruction with the TOTEM Roman pot detectors for high-$\beta^*$ LHC data

    hep-ex 2024-11 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

A new polygonal-overlap track finder for TOTEM Roman pots achieves 6-7 µm spatial resolution, enabling 3 µm horizontal alignment for high-β* LHC data.

  2. Production of exotic hadrons in $pp$ and nuclear collisions

    hep-ph 2024-11 conditional novelty 1.0 of 10

A review of exotic-hadron production in pp, pbar-p, and nuclear collisions, arguing that such measurements can discriminate between hadronic-molecule and compact-tetraquark interpretations of states like the X(3872).

  3. Central exclusive production at the LHC: Remarks by the organisers on an EMMI workshop

    hep-ph 2019-08 unverdicted

A workshop report summarizing talks and organizer conclusions on central exclusive production at the LHC, focusing on odderon searches, glueballs, and the need for forward proton detection.
