Diffuse Galactic Emission from Spinning Dust Grains

Spinning interstellar dust grains produce detectable rotational emission in the 10-100 GHz frequency range. We calculate the emission spectrum, and show that this emission can account for the ``anomalous'' Galactic background component which correlates with 100um thermal emission from dust. Implications for cosmic background studies are discussed.

Galactic Science with the LiteBIRD satellite: Spectral characterization of diffuse Galactic polarized emission at the angular power spectrum level
LiteBIRD is forecast to measure Galactic polarized dust and synchrotron spectral parameters with errors as low as σ(T_d)≈0.2 K, σ(β_d)≈0.006, σ(β_s)≈0.04, and to detect E/B and T/P spectral discrepancies in the diffuse ISM.
