abstract
We study the superconformal index of 3d $\mathcal{N}=2$ superconformal field theories on $S^1\times_{\omega} S^2$ in the Cardy-like limit where the radius of the $S^1$ is much smaller than that of the $S^2$. We show that the first two leading terms in this Cardy-like expansion are dictated by the Bethe Ansatz formulation of the topologically twisted index of the same theory. We apply this relation to 3d $\mathcal{N}=2$ holographic superconformal field theories describing the low-energy dynamics of $N$ M2-branes and derive closed form expressions, valid to all orders in the $1/N$ expansion, for the two leading terms in the Cardy-like expansion of the superconformal index. We also discuss the implications of our results for the entropy of supersymmetric Kerr-Newman black holes in AdS$_4$ and the four-derivative corrections to 4d gauged supergravity.

Cardy limit of the 3d superconformal index
In the Cardy limit the 3d superconformal index obeys Z ~ beta^{-#} on the first sheet and Z ~ e^{#/beta} on the second, with gauge-enhancing saddles screened for non-chiral theories.

Mixed 't Hooft Anomalies and the Witten Effect for AdS Black Holes
Near-BPS dyonic AdS4 black holes with a theta angle show a Witten-effect charge shift that reduces the mass gap and the index, and at the special angle both the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy and the supersymmetric index ...

An Airy Tale at Large $N$
The paper presents numerical and analytic evidence that the large-N sphere partition function of five classes of M2-brane SCFTs, with squashing and real masses, takes the form of an Airy function to all orders in 1/N.

Perturbatively exact supersymmetric partition functions of ABJM theory on Seifert manifolds and holography
A perturbatively exact ABJM partition function on Seifert manifolds is matched to Euclidean AdS-Taub-Bolt supergravity, including N^{1/2} and log N corrections.
