abstract

Longitudinal polarisation of the weak bosons is a direct consequence of Electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism providing an insight into its nature, and is instrumental in searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. We perform a polarisation study of the diboson production in the $p p \to e^+\nu_e\mu^-\bar\nu_\mu$ process at NNLO QCD in the fiducial setup inspired by experimental measurements at ATLAS. This is the first polarisation study at NNLO. We employ the double-pole approximation framework for the polarised calculation, and investigate NNLO effects arising in differential distributions.

The authors deliver the first NNLO QCD plus NLO EW combination of predictions for polarised ZZ pairs at the LHC and validate them across five Monte Carlo codes and against ATLAS simulations.

  2. All planar three-loop Feynman integrals for the production of two vector bosons at hadron colliders

    hep-ph 2025-12 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

All nine planar three-loop four-point integral families for two massive external legs are cast into canonical differential equations and evaluated numerically, completing the set needed for leading-colour N3LO diboson...

  3. Effects of bottom quark induced processes on polarized $W^+W^-$ production at the LHC at NLO

    hep-ph 2025-05 conditional novelty 2.0 of 10

Bottom-quark induced processes at NLO QCD+EW increase the doubly-longitudinal W+W- polarization fraction by about 7.6% with a jet veto and 10.5% without, after on-shell top-quark subtraction.
