The Drell-Yan process at hadron colliders is a fundamental benchmark for the study of strong interactions and the extraction of electro-weak parameters. The outstanding precision of the LHC demands very accurate theoretical predictions with a full account of fiducial experimental cuts. In this letter we present a state-of-the-art calculation of the fiducial cross section and of differential distributions for this process at third order in the strict fixed-order expansion in the strong coupling, as well as including the all-order resummation of logarithmic corrections. Together with these results, we present a detailed study of the subtraction technique used to carry out the calculation for different sets of experimental cuts, as well as of the sensitivity of the fiducial cross section to infrared physics. We find that residual theory uncertainties are reduced to the percent level and that the robustness of the predictions can be improved by a suitable adjustment of fiducial cuts.

  1. Fully differential Higgs boson pair production at N$^3$LO with top quark mass effects

    hep-ph 2026-01 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

First fully differential N3LO QCD predictions for gg->hh in the heavy-top limit, with NLO top-mass effects added; heavy-top scale uncertainty shrinks about 3x, to roughly 1-3%.

  2. Fermionic Electroweak Two-Loop Corrections to Drell-Yan and Related Processes

    hep-ph 2025-12 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

The full NNLO electroweak corrections with closed fermion loops to e+e- → ffbar (and Drell-Yan) were calculated semi-numerically and found to modify NLO cross-sections by about 1%.

  3. Impact of Z-boson transverse-momentum resummation on PDF determination

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

N3LL' resummation is required to reconcile the 13 TeV ATLAS Z-pT spectrum with global PDF fits, but lowering the pT cut below 30 GeV is not yet supported.

  4. An Optimal Transportation Approach for Improved Confidence Intervals

    stat.ME 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Optimal-transport couplings are used to construct confidence intervals that reduce coverage error relative to classical quantile-based intervals, with consistency theory and data-driven hyperparameters.

  5. MATRIX HAWAII: PineAPPL interpolation grids with MATRIX

    hep-ph 2025-06 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

Matrix Hawaii provides a public interface between PineAPPL and MATRIX that generates interpolation grids at NNLO QCD + NLO EW accuracy for a range of LHC processes, with sub-permille interpolation errors.

  6. Resumming transverse observables for NNLO+PS matching in GENEVA

    hep-ph 2025-05 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A GENEVA NNLO+PS generator for b bbar H and c cbar H is built with qT resummation at N3LL and the first NLL' resummation of a transverse-measure one-jettiness.

  7. Global analyses of helicity-dependent parton distribution functions

    hep-ph 2026-07 accept novelty 2.0 of 10

Modern global QCD analyses agree that up-quark helicity is positive and down-quark helicity negative, with positive gluon polarisation at moderate x, while the full gluon spin moment remains limited by the unmeasured ...
