We investigated simultaneously the 12C(e,e'p) and 12C(e,e'pp) reactions at Q2 = 2 [GeV/c]2, x_B = 1.2, and in an (e,e'p) missing-momentum range from 300 to 600 MeV/c. At these kinematics, with a missing-momentum greater than the Fermi momentum of nucleons in a nucleus and far from the delta excitation, short-range nucleon-nucleon correlations are predicted to dominate the reaction. For(9.5 +/- 2)% of the 12C(e,e'p) events, a recoiling partner proton was observed back-to-back to the 12C(e,e'p) missing momentum vector, an experimental signature of correlations.

  1. Observing short-range correlations in nuclei through $\rho^0$ photo-production

    nucl-th 2025-01 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Photoproduction of rho0 mesons on nuclei can test the probe-independence of Generalized Contact Formalism and confirm proton-neutron pair dominance in short-range correlations.

  2. Systematic study of large-momentum distribution in nuclei with the operator product expansion

    nucl-th 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Using OPE matched to Pionless EFT, the authors reproduce the deuteron's high-momentum nucleon distribution from scattering-state inputs, validating the method against the AV18 potential.

  3. Experimental Study of Bremsstrahlung Gamma Ray Emission and Short-Range Correlations in $^{124}$Sn+$^{124}$Sn Collisions at 25 MeV/u

    nucl-ex 2025-08 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Precision measurement of bremsstrahlung gamma rays in 124Sn+124Sn collisions at 25 MeV/u yields a high-momentum tail fraction of (20 ± 3)% in 124Sn when compared to IBUU simulations.

  4. Short-range correlations in nuclei

    nucl-ex 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 2.0 of 10

Short-range correlated pairs account for roughly 20% of nucleons in any nucleus and nearly all high-momentum nucleons, originating from the nucleon-nucleon tensor force.
