We report on a search for long duration microlensing events towards the Large Magellanic Cloud. We find none, and therefore put limits on the contribution of high mass objects to the Galactic dark matter. At 95% confidence level we exclude objects in the mass range 0.3 solar masses to 30.0 solar masses from contributing more than 4 times 10^11 solar masses to the Galactic halo. Combined with earlier results, this means that objects with masses under 30 solar masses cannot make up the entire dark matter halo if the halo is of typical size. For a typical dark halo, objects with masses under 10 solar masses contribute less than 40% of the dark matter.

  1. Gravitational Waves From Dark Binaries With Finite-Range Dark Forces

    gr-qc 2024-12 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A finite-range dark force between dark-matter binaries sharpens and enhances the predicted gravitational wave background, adding knee features tied to the mediator mass.

  2. From Primordial Black Holes Abundance to Primordial Curvature Power Spectrum (and back)

    astro-ph.CO 2019-08 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Using numerical relativity thresholds, cosmological perturbation theory, and peak theory, the authors derive updated upper limits on the small-scale primordial curvature power spectrum from primordial black hole abund...

  3. Constraints on primordial black holes from the observed number of Icarus-like ultrahigh magnification events

    astro-ph.CO 2024-11 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

From the single Icarus event, the authors exclude primordial black hole fractions above about 20% of dark matter for masses 0.1-10 solar masses.

  4. Primordial Black Holes from Cosmic Domain Walls

    astro-ph.CO 2019-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A two-field inflationary model with time-dependent domain wall tension produces primordial black holes with a narrow, spike-like mass function, potentially explaining all dark matter or LIGO merger events.

  5. Purely quadratic non-Gaussianity from tachyonic instability: Primordial black holes and scalar-induced gravitational waves

    astro-ph.CO 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Purely quadratic non-Gaussianity from tachyonic instability allows narrow curvature spectra to exponentially suppress primordial black hole overproduction via correlation coefficient ρ approaching -1 while retaining s...

  6. Imprints of energy injection by compact dark stars in the 21-cm signal

    hep-ph 2025-04 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Compact dark stars from asymmetric dark matter may inject energy that significantly deviates the 21-cm brightness temperature evolution from standard cosmology, offering a new probe for particle dark matter.

  7. Picolensing as a Probe of Primordial Black Hole Dark Matter

    astro-ph.HE 2024-11 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Asteroid-mass primordial black hole dark matter could be probed by picolensing of gamma-ray bursts, but only with detector separations of at least Earth-L2 distance once realistic GRB size uncertainties are included.

  8. Lower bound on the primordial black hole merger rate

    astro-ph.CO 2019-08 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Even if nearly all early PBH binaries are disrupted, the re-formed and perturbed binaries merge often enough to rule out PBHs as all of the dark matter in the 1 to 100 solar mass range.

  9. Primordial Black Hole Triggered Type Ia Supernovae II: Comparison with Supernova Remnants and Galactic Chemical Evolution

    astro-ph.HE 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 4.0 of 10

PBH-triggered SN Ia models across metallicities match some observed light curves and remnants, constrain the explosion channel fraction via chemical evolution modeling, and indicate PBHs as a potentially major early-u...

  10. Sub-Horizon Amplification of Curvature Perturbations: A New Route to Primordial Black Holes and Gravitational Waves

    astro-ph.CO 2025-04 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Any negative value of the second slow-roll parameter can amplify the scalar power spectrum through sub-horizon growth, so the usual ultra-slow-roll requirement of epsilon2 <= -6 is not necessary.

  11. Constraints on Primordial Black Holes

    astro-ph.CO 2020-02 accept novelty 4.0 of 10

Updated compilation shows PBHs are tightly constrained across 55 orders of magnitude in mass, ruling out dominant dark matter contributions except in narrow windows, with many limits carrying observational uncertainties.

  12. Primordial Black Holes and Gravitational Waves in Extensions of the Standard Model

    hep-ph 2025-05 conditional novelty 3.0 of 10

A B-L extended inert doublet model can yield two strong first-order phase transitions that generate gravitational wave signals and, for tuned parameters, primordial black holes making up all dark matter.

  13. Stellar microlensing surveys as a probe of Primordial Black Holes: status and prospects

    astro-ph.GA 2026-02 unverdicted novelty 2.0 of 10

Stellar microlensing surveys exclude compact objects between 10^{-11} and 10^4 solar masses from making up all dark matter under standard assumptions.
