Lectures notes for 2004 Les Houches Summer School on "Nanoscopic Quantum Transport". These lectures contain an introduction to Keldysh formalism for interacting bosonic and fermionic systems, presented in the functional integral framework. Covered topics include: kinetic theory, relation to classical techniques (such as Martin--Siggia--Rose and Fokker--Planck), non--linear sigma model for disordered fermions, etc.

Critical dynamics of a scalar field near four spatial dimensions
The exactly dissipationless critical dynamics of a scalar field is an invariant but unstable surface of the RG flow, and any small friction drives it to Model A, with new two-loop dynamic exponents.

Chiral Magnetic Conductivity in the Tight-Binding Model of Dirac Semimetals
In the quantum limit of a lattice Dirac semimetal, impurity scattering yields sigma_zz = |e|^3|B|v_F/(4pi^2 hbar eps) * (1-|M|^2)/(2|M|^2), carried by chiral modes with J = v_F rho_5, a microscopic derivation of the c...
