It is well known that the perturbation equations of massless fields for the Kerr-de Sitter geometry can be written in the form of separable equations. The equations have five definite singularities so that the analysis has been expected to be difficult. We show that these equations can be transformed to Heun's equations, for which we are able to use known technique for the analysis of the solutions. We reproduce results known previously for the Kerr geometry and de Sitter geometry in the confluent limits of the Heun's functions. Our analysis applies can be extended to Kerr-Newman-de Sitter geometry for massless fields with spin 0 and 1/2.

    hep-th 2026-08 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A pair of coordinate changes projects Heun-type gravitational fluctuation equations onto two matched hypergeometric problems, reproducing instanton-counting results and yielding Schwarzian zero modes.

    hep-th 2025-08 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A new kink method computes the Floquet phase of Heun-type equations as convergent series, matching the dual gauge period of N=2 SYM in the NS background and giving black-hole perturbation wavefunctions.

  3. Exact Solution of the Non-minimally Coupled Klein-Gordon Equation in the Schwarzschild Star

Exact solution of non-minimally coupled massive Klein-Gordon equation in Schwarzschild star metric expressed via general Heun function after geometry-induced coordinate transformation.

  4. Spectral Bifurcations in Quasinormal Modes of Regular BTZ Black Holes

    gr-qc 2026-03 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

For regular BTZ black holes from an infinite Lovelock tower, scalar quasinormal modes bifurcate from complex BTZ branches into purely imaginary branches as the regularization length ℓ grows, producing mode switching a...

  5. Exceptional Lines and Excitation of (Nearly) Double-Pole Quasinormal Modes: A Semi-Analytic Study in the Nariai Black Hole

    hep-th 2025-06 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Cold near-extremal Kerr-de Sitter black holes carry universal log(T) entropy corrections while rotating Nariai geometries do not, as derived from Teukolsky/Heun connection coefficients.

  8. Scalar Instabilities Inside The Extremal Dyonic Kerr-Sen Black Hole: Novel Exact Solutions and Chronology Protection Conjecture

    gr-qc 2025-02 reject novelty 5.0 of 10

Inside the extremal dyonic Kerr-Sen black hole, scalar field modes have purely imaginary frequencies, so they do not propagate; the growing modes can destroy the region containing closed timelike curves, supporting th...
