The long-distance electromagnetic radiative corrections to tau- -> pi- pi0 nu are re-evaluated. A meson dominance model is used to describe the emission of real photons in this decay. Results obtained for the hadronic spectrum and the decay rate in photon inclusive reactions are compared with previous calculations based on the chiral resonance theory. Independent tests in tau -> pi pi nu gamma that can help to validate the predictions of one of the two models are briefly discussed.

  1. Isospin-breaking effects in inclusive hadronic $\tau$ data for the muon $(g-2)$ from first principles

    hep-lat 2026-07 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

A lattice QCD+QED strategy is outlined for calculating isospin-breaking effects in inclusive tau decays to support high-precision HVP contributions to muon g-2.

  2. The anomalous magnetic moment of the muon in the Standard Model: an update

    hep-ph 2025-05 accept novelty 5.0 of 10

The updated SM prediction for the muon anomalous magnetic moment is 116592033(62)×10^{-11}, showing no tension with the experimental average of 38(63)×10^{-11}.

  3. Compatibility between $e^+e^-$ and $\tau$ decay data in the di-pion channel and implications for $a_\mu^\mathrm{SM}$ and CVC tests

    hep-ph 2024-11 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Updated isospin-breaking corrections bring tau decay data into agreement with the new CMD-3 e+e- result, supporting a tau-based hadronic vacuum polarization estimate that reduces the muon g-2 tension to 2.7 sigma.

  4. Hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon g-2 on Euclidean windows from tau data

    hep-ph 2024-11 conditional novelty 3.0 of 10

Tau data give an independent, lattice-compatible value for the intermediate-window hadronic vacuum polarization, disagreeing with the e+e- data-driven value that drives the muon g-2 tension.
