We argue that eleven dimensional supergravity can be described by a non-linear realisation based on the group E_{11}. This requires a formulation of eleven dimensional supergravity in which the gravitational degrees of freedom are described by two fields which are related by duality. We show the existence of such a description of gravity.

  1. On a new class of high-corank Kac-Moody algebras

    math.RA 2026-07 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Recursive multigraph-based constructions produce families of generalized Cartan matrices with exponentially growing coranks for Kac-Moody algebras, with explicit spectra computed via adjacency eigenvalue multiplicity.

  2. Covariant quantization of totally antisymmetric tensor-spinor field in $AdS_d$

    hep-th 2025-09 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

The BV quantization of the reducible fermionic p-form gauge theory in AdS_d gives Z(p) as a product over functional determinants of Dirac-like operators with degree-dependent masses.

  3. Duality-covariant particles and exotic branes

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Proposes enlarged worldline models with coadjoint orbit terms and generalized worldvolume theories for exotic branes that make E8 duality covariance manifest in a Hamiltonian formulation.

  4. Closed string trajectories from a new "tiling"

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

A method constructs closed string trajectories from open string seeds dressed by symplectic algebra generators via Howe duality, with physical states identified by solving Diophantine recursion relations.

  5. From Tensor Algebras to Hyperbolic Kac-Moody Algebras

    hep-th 2025-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Simultaneous mutually commuting coset Virasoro actions are realized on the tensor algebra of the Feingold-Frenkel algebra, giving explicit decompositions and tensor ground states up to level five.

  6. Tensor global symmetries and the Stueckelberg mechanism for tensor fields

    hep-th 2024-11 reject novelty 6.0 of 10

The authors construct Stueckelberg completions for massive mixed-symmetry tensor fields and derive mixed-symmetry currents and a 't Hooft anomaly for linearized gravity, but a sign error invalidates the (2,1) current ...

  7. Super-$\mathrm{Lie}_\infty$ T-Duality and M-Theory

    hep-th 2024-11 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The M-algebra is shown to be the brane-charge completion of the fully T-doubled super-spacetime, with the Poincaré super 2-form of T-duality lifted to a Poincaré super 3-form.
