We study the in-medium modification of the isovector pi N amplitude using a non-linear representation of the sigma model but keeping the scalar degree of freedom. We check that our result does not depend on the representation. We discuss the connection with other approaches based on chiral perturbation theory.

  1. Pion properties in isospin-asymmetric nuclear matter using in-medium chiral perturbation theory

    nucl-th 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In isospin-asymmetric nuclear matter, the three pions acquire distinct in-medium masses, wave function renormalizations, and decay constants, computed at two-loop order with in-medium chiral perturbation theory.
