We show how to simplify the computation of the entanglement of formation and the relative entropy of entanglement for states, which are invariant under a group of local symmetries. For several examples of groups we characterize the state spaces, which are invariant under these groups. For specific examples we calculate the entanglement measures. In particular, we derive an explicit formula for the entanglement of formation for UU-invariant states, and we find a counterexample to the additivity conjecture for the relative entropy of entanglement.

  1. Relative entropy of entanglement of Haar random states

    quant-ph 2026-08 accept novelty 7.0 of 10

For a bipartite mixed state obtained by tracing out one subsystem of a tripartite Haar-random pure state, the relative entropy of entanglement equals log(d_A d_B / max(d_A,d_B,d_C)) plus an absolute constant, with hig...

  2. Sharp Plucker Geometry for Three-Copy Werner Distillation

    quant-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

For three-copy Werner states at the critical noise level, every positive-semidefinite or normal rank-two test operator is shown to satisfy q3(C) >= 0, with the remaining nonnormal case reduced to a crossed-Gram criterion.

  3. Entanglement groups for mixed states

    quant-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

For mixed quantum states, entanglement can be characterized by a quotient group of local unitary stabilizers of the density matrix, and any nontriviality for separable states must come from multipartite entanglement w...
