We find an exact, N=1 supersymmetric kink solution of 5d gauged supergravity. We associate this solution with the RG flow from N=4 super Yang-Mills theory, deformed by a relevant operator, to pure N=1 super Yang-Mills in the IR. We test this identification by computing various QFT quantities using the supergravity dual: the tension of electric and magnetic strings and the gaugino condensate. As demanded by our identification, our kink solution is a true deformation of N=4, that exhibits confinement of quarks, magnetic screening, and spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking.

  1. Covariant unification of holographic c-functions

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

A new covariant c-function is defined from extrinsic curvature of codimension-two bulk slices, unifying prior foliation-based definitions and exhibiting expected monotonic behavior in conformal, confining, and mixed-g...

  2. The entanglement membrane in 2d CFT: reflected entropy, RG flow, and information velocity

    hep-th 2024-11 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A generalized entanglement membrane with an extra bulk-depth degree of freedom correctly captures reflected entropy in 2d CFT, and a relevant deformation restores the ordinary non-degenerate membrane tension.

  3. Holographic RG flows and wormholes from sinusoidal scalars

    hep-th 2026-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

For d=3, Δ=2 Einstein-scalar gravity with sinusoidal sources on two R^3 boundaries, the large wormhole dominates the path integral whenever wormholes exist, and there is no Hawking-Page-like subdominant regime.

  4. Supergravity flows, wormholes and their pseudo-Hermitian holographic duals

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Supergravity truncations admit real-metric wormhole solutions via imaginary scalar extensions whose holographic duals are pseudo-Hermitian and PT-symmetric, interpretable as entangled brane states.

  5. Twisted-Circle Compactifications of SQCD-like Theories and Holography

    hep-th 2025-06 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

New regular type IIB supergravity backgrounds are constructed for twisted-circle compactifications of SQCD-like theories, and their regularity forces the anomaly-free condition N_f = 2N_c.

  6. Holographic confining theories on space-times with constant positive curvature

    hep-th 2025-02 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

For holographic confining theories on spheres, a curvature-driven quantum phase transition occurs between a low-curvature branch with flat-space-like IR and a high-curvature regular branch; the transition is first-ord...

  7. Janus and RG-interfaces in minimal 3d gauged supergravity

  8. Cosmic censorship in a (dual) collider

    hep-th 2024-11 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In holographic models with a good-singularity ground state, a boost-invariant expanding fluid drives the dual horizon curvature to diverge in classical gravity.

  9. On the Underlying Nonrelativistic Nature of Relativistic Holography

    hep-th 2025-02 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Standard AdS/CFT duality is reinterpreted as D-brane/black-brane duality in nonrelativistic D3-brane theory, with AdS5×S5 as a relativistic bubble in flat 3-Newton-Cartan geometry.

  10. Krylov Complexity and $c$-function along RG Flows

    hep-th 2026-08 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Along holographic RG flows, the acceleration of spread complexity and the covariant c-function are algebraically related: inversely in fixed-dimension domain walls and Dp-branes, co-monotonically in twisted compactifications.
