We recast the action principle of four dimensional General Relativity so that it becomes amenable for perturbation theory which doesn't break general covariance. The coupling constant becomes dimensionless (G_{Newton} \Lambda) and extremely small 10^{-120}. We give an expression for the generating functional of perturbation theory. We show that the partition function of quantum General Relativity can be expressed as an expectation value of a certain topologically invariant observable. This sets up a framework in which quantum gravity can be studied perturbatively using the techniques of topological quantum field theory.

  1. Symmetry TFTs for Continuous Spacetime Symmetries

    hep-th 2025-09 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Continuous spacetime symmetries can be encoded in a (d+1)-dimensional BF/Chern-Simons topological field theory, whose boundary reproduces symmetry generators, symmetry breaking, and anomalies.

  2. Charges of supergravity

    hep-th 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

In N=1 supergravity as constrained BF theory, the algebra of boundary charges matches the superalgebra with translational charges vanishing on-shell from the super-torsion constraint.

  3. Sandwich Construction of Symmetry TFTs for the Centre Symmetries of Chern-Simons, Yang-Mills, and Einstein Gravity

    hep-th 2025-09 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Constructs AKSZ sandwich SymTFTs with stacky target spaces that encode the center symmetries of Chern-Simons, Yang-Mills, and MacDowell-Mansouri gravity.
