We construct the canonical action of a Carroll string doing the Carroll limit of a canonical relativistic string. We also study the Killing symmetries of the Carroll string, which close under an infinite dimensional algebra. The tensionless limit and the Carroll $p$-brane action are also discussed.

  1. Quantum Fluctuations and Newton-Cartan Geometry for Non-Relativistic de Sitter space

    hep-th 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 7.0

The one-loop partition function for non-relativistic de Sitter gravity yields a T² prefactor consistent with four symmetry generators, and the bulk admits a torsionless Newton-Cartan geometry satisfying the non-relati...

  2. New-born strings are tensionless

    hep-th 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 7.0

Tensionless strings arise exclusively at birth in the ultra-shrinking limit of a causal diamond worldsheet, revealing a new phase with global ultra-local Carrollian structure.

  3. Carroll fermions from null reduction: A case of good and bad fermions

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0

Carrollian fermionic actions for electric and magnetic sectors are derived from a single Bargmann Dirac action by null reduction, with good and bad fermions as dynamical and constrained modes valid in any dimension.

  4. On the Consistency of Null Strings Literature: The Tale of an Overlooked Symmetry

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Null strings possess an overlooked local symmetry that reduces their physical degrees of freedom to D-3 rather than the D-2 reported in prior literature.
