The kaon physics programme, long heralded as a cutting-edge frontier by the European Strategy for Particle Physics, continues to stand at the intersection of discovery and innovation in high-energy physics (HEP). With its unparalleled capacity to explore new physics at the multi-TeV scale, kaon research is poised to unveil phenomena that could reshape our understanding of the Universe. This document highlights the compelling physics case, with emphasis on exciting new opportunities for advancing kaon physics not only in Europe but also on a global stage. As an important player in the future of HEP, the kaon programme promises to drive transformative breakthroughs, inviting exploration at the forefront of scientific discovery.

Reviewed papers in the Pith corpus that reference this work. Sorted by Pith novelty score. Full citation record

  1. The flavour of SU(15) composite quarks and leptons

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A hand-imposed hierarchical texture for two flavour spurions fits the SM quark/lepton masses and CKM, and the same spurions make the electron EDM and K0-Kbar0 mixing the strongest probes of the SU(15) preon scale.

  2. A CKM blind spot: probing $b$-column rescaling with kaons

    hep-ph 2026-07 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

A uniform rescaling of the CKM b-column is invisible to B-physics-only fits, and kaon data already bound it to −4%…+4% (2σ), with projections reaching ~2%.

  3. Prospects for $K_{L}\to\pi^{0}\nu\bar{\nu}$, $K_S\to\mu^+\mu^-$, $K_L\to\pi^0 \ell^+\ell^-$ and $\varepsilon^{\prime}/\varepsilon$ after the new $K^{+}\to\pi^{+}\nu\bar{\nu}$ result from NA62

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

A Z' model with both left- and right-handed sbar-d couplings can enhance K_L→π0ννbar by an order of magnitude while keeping K+→π+ννbar and ε_K SM-like.

  4. High-precision measurement of the kaonic hydrogen 1s level shift and width with SIDDHARTA-2

    nucl-ex 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

A new kaonic-hydrogen X-ray measurement yields the most precise values of the strong-interaction 1s level shift and width, improving on SIDDHARTA by roughly a factor of two.
