abstract

We present a modified cosmological scenario that arises from the application of non-extensive thermodynamics with varying exponent. We extract the modified Friedmann equations, which contain new terms quantified by the non-extensive exponent, possessing standard $\Lambda$CDM cosmology as a subcase. Concerning the universe evolution at late times we obtain an effective dark energy sector, and we show that we can acquire the usual thermal history, with the successive sequence of matter and dark-energy epochs, with the effective dark-energy equation-of-state parameter being in the quintessence or in the phantom regime. The interesting feature of the scenario is that the above behaviors can be obtained even if the explicit cosmological constant is set to zero, namely they arise purely from the extra terms. Additionally, we confront the model with Supernovae type Ia and Hubble parameter observational data, and we show that the agreement is very good. Concerning the early-time universe we obtain inflationary de Sitter solutions, which are driven by an effective cosmological constant that includes the new terms of non-extensive thermodynamics. This effective screening can provide a description of both inflation and late-time acceleration with the same parameter choices, which is a significant advantage.

  1. The generalized second law as a thermodynamic selection criterion for dynamical dark energy

    gr-qc 2026-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The generalized second law imposes complementary bounds on the horizon entropy scaling k in phantom and quintessence regimes, selecting k=2 at a smooth phantom-divide crossing.

  2. Cosmological consequences of scale-dependent Barrow-Tsallis entropy

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A scale-dependent Barrow-Tsallis entropy cosmology fits cosmic data but is statistically disfavored versus ΛCDM, with only a modest and partially circular Hubble-tension 'alleviation'.

  3. Phantom-Divide Crossing in Barrow-Tsallis Holographic Dark Energy with a Scale-Dependent Barrow Exponent

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

For generalized-entropy holographic dark energy with a future-event-horizon cutoff, the phantom-divide crossing on the kinematic branch is unique, quintessence-to-phantom, and fixes the local entropy-scaling dimension...

  4. A winding number analysis of Schwarzschild black hole stability in light of Planck-scale modified kinematics

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

For the cubic entropy correction S=πr_h²−αr_h³ arising from a Planck-scale modified dispersion relation, all physically allowed Schwarzschild-like branches have winding number w=−1, so no stable phase appears.

  5. Modified Entropy from Action Principle

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Authors add f(R, K) to the Einstein-Hilbert action, obtain higher-derivative-free modified Friedmann equations for flat FRW, and derive a general apparent-horizon entropy expression usable for multiple entropy models.

  6. Hints Beyond $\Lambda$CDM from Barrow and Tsallis Holographic Dark Energy with GO cutoff

    gr-qc 2026-01 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Barrow holographic dark energy with the Granda-Oliveros cutoff fits current background data as well as ΛCDM and shows a weak AIC preference only for the Union3-based dataset combination.

  7. Constraints on R\'{e}nyi Entropy through Primordial Big-Bang Nucleosynthesis and Baryogenesis

    physics.gen-ph 2025-07 reject novelty 5.0 of 10

Rényi entropy cosmology constrained by BBN: helium and deuterium allow overlapping λ ranges near 10^-85, lithium requires disjoint values, so the constant-λ model cannot solve the lithium problem.

  8. Correspondence between Myrzakulov $F(R,Q)$ gravity and Tsallis cosmology

    gr-qc 2025-02 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

With a specific choice of connection functions, Myrzakulov F(R,Q) gravity and Tsallis cosmology produce identical background expansion but different growth of density perturbations.

  9. Effective matter sectors from modified entropies

    gr-qc 2025-11 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Choosing a modified entropy S(r) fixes a metric f(r)=1-4πM/S'(r), and the Einstein tensor of that metric acts as an anisotropic effective fluid.

  10. Observational constraints on the modified cosmology inspired by string T-duality

    gr-qc 2025-10 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Late-time data bound the T-duality zero-point-length coupling to β ≲ 10^-3, leaving ΛCDM statistically equivalent.

  11. Black Holes Thermodynamics and Generalised Non-Extensive Entropy

    gr-qc 2025-02 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

For Schwarzschild black holes, generalized non-extensive entropies such as Rényi, Tsallis, and four- and five-parameter forms cannot reproduce both the Hawking temperature and the ADM mass; only the Bekenstein-Hawking...
