I show that gravitational entropy can be ascribed to spacetimes containing Misner strings (the gravitational analogues of Dirac strings), even in the absence of any other event horizon (or bolt) structures. This result follows from an extension of proposals for evaluating the stress-energy of a gravitational system which are motivated by the AdS/CFT correspondence.

Thermodynamics of charged and accelerating black holes
For charged accelerating AdS black holes in Maxwell, ModMax, and RegMax theories, topological renormalization of the Euclidean action differs from holographic renormalization by 2πℓ²μ₊T when the total cosmic string te...

Holographic renormalization and the variational problem for mixed boundary conditions via a solution-dependent superpotential-like function
For m²L²=-2 in AdS black holes with integrable mixed boundary conditions, the cubic coefficient in the near-boundary expansion of the solution-dependent W(φ) is fixed by the boundary deformation to ensure a well-posed...
