We analyze the complex analytic properties of Classical (tree-level) S-matrices for four scalar particles with s-t crossing symmetry, involving an infinite number of exchanges. Under suitable analytic conditions, we demonstrate that such S-matrices exhibit a spectrum of poles that is equally spaced. We extend this result to S-matrices with accumulating poles, proving that under analogous conditions, their pole spectrum coincides with that of the Coon S-matrix. The boundedness of the S-matrix in the Regge limit is not essential for our results. While studying S-matrices that do not meet the conditions of our theorems, we encounter functions that have novel non-isolated singularities akin to what is called the natural boundary.

The Veneziano amplitude is the unique outcome of an analytic dual bootstrap from dispersive sum rules, unitarity, and either string monodromy or splitting and hidden-zero conditions.

  2. Analytic Bootstrap of the Veneziano Amplitude

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

The Veneziano amplitude is the unique solution to a dual bootstrap from dispersive sum rules interpreted as moments, unitarity, and string monodromy or splitting conditions.

    hep-th 2025-11 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A chiral composite linear dilaton worldsheet action reproduces Mandelstam's generalized Veneziano amplitudes and yields new partially crossing-symmetric higher-point and closed-string amplitudes.

Numerical S-matrix bootstrap shows that maximized couplings of the second and third higher-spin resonances select spectra lying on a linear Regge trajectory, anchored by the graviton in gravitational theories.
