Transverse excitations in analogue black holes induce a mass like term in the longitudinal mode equation. With a simple toy model we show that correlation functions display a rather rich structure characterized by groups of parallel peaks. For the most part the structure is completely different from that found in the massless case.

  1. Non-local correlations of a test quantum field in gravitational collapse

    gr-qc 2025-05 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Equal-time vacuum correlations of a test quantum field on a dynamically collapsing, horizon-forming spacetime develop non-local peaks across the apparent horizon, and the outside peak moves away from the horizon over time.
