We consider chiral fermion confinement in scalar thick branes, which are known to localize gravity, coupled through a Yukawa term. The conditions for the confinement and their behavior in the thin-wall limit are found for various different BPS branes, including double walls and branes interpolating between different AdS_5 spacetimes. We show that only one massless chiral mode is localized in all these walls, whenever the wall thickness is keep finite. We also show that, independently of wall's thickness, chiral fermionic modes cannot be localized in dS_4 walls embedded in a M_5 spacetime. Finally, massive fermions in double wall spacetimes are also investigated. We find that, besides the massless chiral mode localization, these double walls support quasi-localized massive modes of both chiralities.

  1. The End of the Road for Bulk Fields in Warped Randall-Sundrum Braneworlds

    gr-qc 2026-01 reject novelty 6.0 of 10

In arbitrary-dimensional warped braneworlds, the derived local conditions leave only the free scalar and the NED model L(F)=b√F as consistent, localizable bulk fields.

  2. Quasinormal Ringing of de Sitter Braneworlds

    gr-qc 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Thin and thick de Sitter braneworlds have discrete, purely imaginary quasinormal frequencies for gravitational perturbations, with decay rates set by the Hubble constant and, for thick branes, by the brane width parameter.

  3. Quasinormal modes of scalar perturbations in Rastall thick brane

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

The graviscalar quasinormal mode spectrum and late-time power-law tails of a Rastall thick brane are computed numerically, showing that the Rastall parameter λ controls mode lifetimes and tail exponents.

  4. Real Part Emergence in Purely Imaginary Quasinormal Modes in Perturbed de Sitter Braneworlds

    gr-qc 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Perturbations on a thick de Sitter brane induce a real part in previously purely imaginary quasinormal modes, creating intermediate oscillatory signatures in time-domain signals while late-time behavior stays zero-mod...

  5. Interactions between different Kaluza-Klein modes in brane world

    hep-th 2024-12 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

The Orthonormal Completeness Hypothesis implies universal interactions between KK modes in brane-world effective actions for U(1) gauge and fermion fields.

  6. Fermionic Kaluza-Klein mode mixing in braneworlds

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 4.0 of 10

Perturbations induce KK mode mixing resolved by SVD of the Dirac mass matrix, with parity-odd operators preserving Z2 symmetry and parity-even operators breaking it to polarize wavefunctions toward the brane.

  7. Scalar-gravitational quasinormal modes and echoes in a five dimensional thick brane

    gr-qc 2025-08 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Scalar perturbations of a split five-dimensional thick brane yield long-lived quasinormal modes and position-dependent echo waveforms: clean periodic echoes on a sub-brane and modulated echoes between sub-branes.
