We revisit the production of leptonic asymmetries in minimal extensions of the Standard Model that can explain neutrino masses, involving extra singlets with Majorana masses in the GeV scale. We study the quantum kinetic equations both analytically, via a perturbative expansion up to third order in the mixing angles, and numerically. The analytical solution allows us to identify the relevant CP invariants, and simplifies the exploration of the parameter space. We find that sizeable lepton asymmetries are compatible with non-degenerate neutrino masses and measurable active-sterile mixings.

  1. Impact of dim-6 $\nu$SMEFT operators on low-scale leptogenesis

    hep-ph 2025-10 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A dimension-six, lepton-number-conserving νSMEFT operator can enhance or suppress the baryon asymmetry from low-scale leptogenesis by orders of magnitude, and its observable 0νββ signature would exclude most of the su...

    hep-ph 2024-12 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

An off-diagonal thermal potential from sterile neutrino self-interactions generates the baryon asymmetry at lower order in the Yukawa coupling, boosting it and relaxing the mass degeneracy required in vanilla ARS lept...

    hep-ph 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

For four flavour-symmetry cases, this paper maps heavy-neutrino lifetimes, decay flavour ratios, and the parameter space where leptogenesis works and colliders can test it.

  4. Right-handed neutrinos: seesaw models and signatures

    hep-ph 2025-02 conditional novelty 1.0 of 10

A pedagogical review that explains how adding right-handed neutrinos can generate small neutrino masses through seesaw mechanisms and what experimental signatures such models predict.
