Future Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) experiments will deliver extremely accurate measurements of the E-modes pattern of the CMB polarization field. Given the sharpness of the E-modes transfer functions, such surveys make for a powerful detector of high-frequency signals from primordial features that may be lurking in current data sets. With a handful of toy models that increase the fit to the latest Planck data, but are of marginal statistical significance, we use a state-of-the-art forecast pipeline to illustrate the promising prospects to test primordial features in the next decade. Not only will future experiments allow us to detect such features in data, but they will also be able to discriminate between models and narrow down the physical mechanism originating them with high statistical significance. On the other hand, if the anomalies in the currently measured CMB spectra are just statistical fluctuations, all the current feature best fit candidates will be ruled out. Either way, our results show that primordial features are a clear target of forthcoming CMB surveys beyond the detection of tensor modes.

  1. Nonlinear Lattice Framework for Inflation: Bridging stochastic inflation and the $\delta{N}$ formalism

    gr-qc 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 8.0 of 10

A shear-free locally FLRW lattice framework for single-field inflation captures spatially varying expansion, curvature corrections, and nonlinear δN observables at a fraction of the cost of full numerical relativity.

  2. Scale-Dependent Loop Corrections to the Inflationary Power Spectrum

    astro-ph.CO 2026-03 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

One-loop gravitational corrections in inflationary models with scale-dependent features are renormalizable and vanish on large and small scales, preserving perturbativity of CMB-fit feature models.

  3. Inverse-k Primordial Oscillations from a Symbolic Regression Search

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Symbolic regression on Planck and Planck+ACT+SPT independently selects an inverse-k primordial oscillation cos(B/k)≈cos(4/k) that weakly outperforms linear and log templates.

  4. Tightening constraints on primordial oscillations with latest ACT and SPT data

    astro-ph.CO 2025-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Combining ACT DR6, SPT-3G D1, and Planck CMB data tightens the 95% upper limits on primordial oscillation amplitudes to about 0.029, with no significant signal.
