Splitting functions are universal functions describing the collinear dynamics of gauge theories, and as such are crucial ingredients for a wide variety of calculations in perturbative QCD. We present analytic results for the triple collinear splitting functions in QCD with a single massive parton. We derive the splitting functions using two distinct methods; first by expanding the squared matrix elements in the collinear limit, and secondly by using soft-collinear effective theory with massive quarks. We find agreement between these two approaches, providing a strong check of our results. Additionally, we also check all iterated and soft limits of our results, finding agreement with predictions from factorization. Our results provide an important ingredient for higher order perturbative calculations involving massive partons, and for the description of the collinear dynamics of heavy flavor jets.

  1. Factorization of the triple-collinear $q \to qc\bar{c}$ splitting function at first order in opacity

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

At first order in opacity, the medium-modified q->q c cbar splitting function factorizes into products of q->q g and g->c cbar splitting functions in three strongly ordered collinear limits.

  2. Massive On-shell Splitting Functions in Spinor-Helicity Formalism

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Massive SM splitting functions are reconstructed from on-shell amplitudes via SW collinear spinors and a Higgs-insertion dictionary.

  3. Dissecting Parton Showers with Multi-Point Energy Correlators

    hep-ph 2026-07 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

Projections of four-point energy correlators cleanly separate spin from kinematic azimuthal correlations inside jets; spin effects are subdominant in accessible LHC kinematics.

  4. Infrared singularities and the collinear limits of multi-leg scattering amplitudes

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Using colour conservation and rescaling symmetry, the two-particle collinear constraints are shown to imply multi-particle collinear factorisation through four loops, and a new triple-collinear constraint is derived f...

  5. Bridging massive and massless schemes for soft gluon resummation in heavy-flavour production in $e^+e^-$ collisions

    hep-ph 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The paper computes the O(alpha_s) soft-limit constants that interpolate between massive and massless scheme resummations, raising the accuracy of heavy-flavour fragmentation predictions from NLL to NLL'.

  6. Heavy Flavor Jet Substructure at Lepton Colliders

    hep-ph 2025-02 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

NLL-accurate predictions for heavy-flavor energy correlation functions and jet angularities in e+e- collisions show all tested Monte Carlo generators overestimate the dead-cone suppression.
