This article gives the perturbative NNLO results for the most commonly used event shape variables associated to three-jet events in electron-positron annihilation: Thrust, heavy jet mass, wide jet broadening, total jet broadening, C parameter and the Durham three-to-two jet transition variable. In addition the NNLO results for the jet rates corresponding to the Durham, Geneva, Jade-E0 and Cambridge jet algorithms are presented.

  1. Precision $e^+e^-$ Hemisphere Masses in the Dijet Region with Power Corrections

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 8.0 of 10

N3LL' resummation for heavy jet and dihemisphere masses in the dijet region, with a new claim that heavy jet mass moments require an extra non-perturbative parameter at order 1/Q.

  2. Extracting Essential Non-perturbative Information in Jet Invariant Mass via the Bayesian Analysis

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A new 3D non-perturbative jet-mass model, fitted to pp data, separates hadronization, ISR, and underlying-event effects and correctly predicts e+e- jet mass data.

  3. Thrust distribution in electron-positron annihilation at full NNNLL+NNLO (and beyond) in QCD

    hep-ph 2025-02 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Laplace-space resummation of the thrust distribution at N4LL accuracy yields alpha_S(mZ^2) = 0.1181 +/- 0.0018, consistent with the world average, while physical-space resummation gives a lower value.

  4. Second-order QCD corrections to event shape distributions in deep inelastic scattering

    hep-ph 2019-09 accept novelty 7.0 of 10

The NNLO QCD corrections to DIS event shape distributions and their mean values are computed for the first time, reducing scale uncertainties and improving the description of H1 and ZEUS data.

  5. An Optimal Transportation Approach for Improved Confidence Intervals

    stat.ME 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Optimal-transport couplings are used to construct confidence intervals that reduce coverage error relative to classical quantile-based intervals, with consistency theory and data-driven hyperparameters.

  6. A thrust to trust minimum thrust

    hep-ph 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The exact minimum thrust for five particles in 3D is given by a closed algebraic expression, and improved estimates for up to 20 particles are obtained numerically.

  7. Precise Predictions for Event Shapes in Hadronic Higgs Decays

    hep-ph 2025-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

First NNLO QCD predictions for six classical event-shape distributions and soft-drop thrust in hadronic Higgs decays, for both H to b bbar and H to gg channels.

  8. On Determining $\alpha_s(m_Z)$ from Dijets in $e^+e^-$ Thrust

    hep-ph 2024-12 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

    An updated N3LL'+O(alpha_s^3) thrust analysis yields alpha_s(m_Z)=0.1136 +/- 0.0012 from a dijet-restricted global fit, stable under fit-range, gap-scheme, and hadronization-model variations.

  9. Monte Carlo Event Generators for Future Lepton Colliders

    hep-ph 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 2.0 of 10

Reviews selected challenges in Monte Carlo event generators for future lepton colliders including electroweak corrections, initial-state radiation, beam dynamics, perturbative QCD and non-perturbative modelling.
