abstract

We use 5-brane webs to study the two-dimensional space of supersymmetric mass deformations of higher rank generalizations of the 5d $E_1$ and $\tilde{E}_1$ theories. Some of the resulting IR phases are described by IR free supersymmetric gauge theories, while others correspond to interacting fixed points. The number of different phases appears to grow with the rank. The space of deformations is qualitatively different for the even and odd rank cases, but that of the even (odd) rank $E_1$ theory is similar to that of the odd (even) rank $\tilde{E}_1$ theory. One result of our analysis predicts that the supersymmetric $SU(N)$ theory with CS level $k=\frac{N}{2} + 4$ and a single massless antisymmetric hypermultiplet exhibits an enhanced global symmetry at the UV fixed point, given by $SU(2)\times SU(2)$ if $N$ is even, and $SU(2)\times U(1)$ if $N$ is odd.

  1. Towards Generalized Dimers for GTPs: $\mathcal{N}=2$ Fractional Branes at Infinite Coupling

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

N=2 strip condensation — collapsing parallel zig-zag strips in brane tilings — reproduces the expected number of gauge groups and yields GTP quivers related to toric ones by relevant deformations.

  2. 5d Higgs Branches: Stratifications from Geometry

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Dynamical complex structure deformations of non-compact Calabi-Yau threefolds with non-isolated singularities reproduce the full Higgs branch stratification of 5d SCFTs, matching magnetic quiver predictions.

  3. Remarks on the Higgs Branch of 5d Conformal Matter

    hep-th 2025-02 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

The Higgs branches of 5d conformal matter atoms and molecules are computed via magnetic quivers and class-S circle reductions, with matching dimensions across the two methods.

  4. On the Origin of Toric Diagrams

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A field's scaling dimension equals the number of perfect matchings at the chosen origin that contain it, making the gauge-theory Hilbert series equal the Ehrhart series of the dual polytope.

  5. A Hilbert Series for Generalized Toric Polygons

    hep-th 2025-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A conjectural extension of the Martelli-Sparks-Yau algorithm computes Ehrhart series of generalized toric polygons as sums over smoothed T-cones, invariant under Hanany-Witten transitions.
