We discuss the physics potential and the experimental challenges of an upgraded LHC running at an instantaneous luminosity of 10**35 cm-2s-1. The detector R&D needed to operate ATLAS and CMS in a very high radiation environment and the expected detector performance are discussed. A few examples of the increased physics potential are given, ranging from precise measurements within the Standard Model (in particular in the Higgs sector) to the discovery reach for several New Physics processes

Reviewed papers in the Pith corpus that reference this work. Sorted by Pith novelty score.

  1. Electro-Weak Phase Transitions and Collider Signals in the Aligned 2-Higgs Doublet Model

    hep-ph 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 5.0

The Aligned 2HDM supports strong first-order electroweak phase transitions that yield LISA-detectable gravitational waves together with LHC-accessible signals from additional neutral and charged Higgs states.

  2. Characterisation at the HL-LHC of Long-lived Heavy Neutrinos in Gauge Extensions of the Standard Model

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 4.0

Displaced heavy-neutrino signals in LRSM and U(1)B−L remain accessible at the HL-LHC, with parton-level mass, lifetime, and AFB handles in low-background regions.

  3. Mono-Z' Signatures in the B-L Supersymmetric Standard Model at the LHC

    hep-ph 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 4.0

Mono-Z' events from Z' plus singlet Higgs production in the BLSSM-IS, with h' decaying to LSP dark matter pairs, yield a detectable leptonic signal independent of the specific DM candidate.
