We discuss classical gravitational aspects of the AdS/CFT correspondence, with the aim of obtaining a rigorous (mathematical) understanding of the semi-classical limit of the gravitational partition function. The paper surveys recent progress in the area, together with a selection of new results and open problems.

  1. On toric self-dual Einstein gravitational instantons

    math.DG 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Toric self-dual Einstein instantons with negative cosmological constant satisfying a global conformal Kähler extension condition are precisely the Calderbank-Pedersen-Singer multipole solutions.

  2. Flat from AdS: in any dimension and for any spin

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Recovers Minkowski massless integer-spin solution space as smooth limit of AdS solution space for even dimensions via cosmological-constant expansion of source and vev.

  3. Radiation in Fluid/Gravity and the Flat Limit

    hep-th 2025-08 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Establishes a holographic link between bulk gravitational radiation and dissipative corrections plus entropy production in boundary fluids, then constructs Carrollian analogues and celestial observables in the flat limit.
