We construct planar black hole solutions in AdS_3 and AdS_4 in which the boundary CFT is perturbed by marginally relevant quenched disorder. We show that the entropy density of the horizon has the scaling temperature dependence s \sim T^{(d-1)/z} (with d=2,3). The dynamical critical exponent z is computed numerically and, at weak disorder, analytically. These results lend support to the claim that the perturbed CFT flows to a disordered quantum critical theory in the IR.

  1. Disordered Charged Horizons

    hep-th 2025-09 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Fully backreacted disordered charged black branes show disorder survives in the infrared of AdS4, producing residual resistivity, but decays in AdS3, indicating a Harris-criterion violation in strongly coupled systems.

  2. The anisotropic chiral boson

    hep-th 2019-09 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

An anisotropic (Lifshitz-like) chiral boson has an exact partition function generated by partitions into z-th powers, plus a nonlocal conformal symmetry.

  3. Holographic RG flows and wormholes from sinusoidal scalars

    hep-th 2026-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

For d=3, Δ=2 Einstein-scalar gravity with sinusoidal sources on two R^3 boundaries, the large wormhole dominates the path integral whenever wormholes exist, and there is no Hawking-Page-like subdominant regime.
