Weak gravitational lensing by intervening large-scale structure induces a distinct signature in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) that can be used to reconstruct the weak-lensing displacement map. Estimators for individual Fourier modes of this map can be combined to produce an estimator for the lensing-potenial power spectrum. The naive estimator for this quantity will be biased upwards by the uncertainty associated with reconstructing individual modes; we present an iterative scheme for removing this bias. The variance and covariance of the lensing-potenial power spectrum estimator are calculated and evaluated numerically in a $\Lambda$CDM universe for Planck and future polarization-sensitive CMB experiments.

  1. The Atacama Cosmology Telescope: A Measurement of the DR6 CMB Lensing Power Spectrum and its Implications for Structure Growth

    astro-ph.CO 2023-04 accept novelty 6.0

ACT DR6 yields a 2.3% precise CMB lensing power spectrum with A_lens = 1.013 ± 0.023 relative to Planck 2018 Lambda CDM, giving S8 = 0.818 ± 0.022 and no evidence for suppressed structure growth.

  2. CMB Lensing Reconstruction Using Two Years of Temperature Data from the SPT-3G Summer Survey

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0

    First CMB lensing reconstruction from two years of SPT-3G Summer temperature data yields A_comb = 1.015 ± 0.053 over 50 < L < 2000, consistent with Planck 2018 ΛCDM.

  3. CMB lensing from Planck PR4 maps

    astro-ph.CO 2022-06 accept novelty 5.0

Planck PR4 maps with optimal filtering yield CMB lensing amplitude 1.004 ± 0.024 and σ8 Ωm^0.25 = 0.599 ± 0.016, the tightest lensing constraint yet.

  4. Constraints on Cosmic Strings from the Curl-Mode CMB Lensing Power Spectrum measured by ACT DR6

    astro-ph.CO 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 4.0

    ACT DR6 curl lensing yields 2σ bounds Gμ P^{-1} ≤ 3.5×10^{-5} (small-P) and Gμ ≤ 5.0×10^{-5} (P=1), tightened further with Planck 2013 data.
