abstract

We study possible contribution of the Majorana neutrino mass eigenstate $\nu_h$ dominated by a sterile neutrino component to neutrinoless double beta ($0\nu\beta\beta$) decay. From the current experimental lower bound on the $0\nu\beta\beta$-decay half-life of $^{76}$Ge we derive stringent constraints on the $\nu_h-\nu_e$ mixing in a wide region of the values of $\nu_h$ mass. We discuss cosmological and astrophysical status of $\nu_h$ in this mass region.

  1. Throwing away antimatter via neutrino oscillations during the reheating era

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

CP-violating flavor oscillations of leptons produced by inflaton decay can store asymmetry in a right-handed neutrino; later lepton-number-violating decay leaves the baryon asymmetry, working for reheating temperature...

  2. Sensitivity of Lepton Number Violating Meson Decays in Different Experiments

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

For 0.14 to 6 GeV heavy neutrinos, accounting for the parent meson's velocity weakens projected LNV meson decay sensitivities by one to two orders of magnitude at NA62 and SHiP.

  3. Phenomenology of $keV$ sterile neutrino in minimal extended seesaw

    hep-ph 2019-08 reject novelty 3.0 of 10

A single keV sterile neutrino in the minimal extended seesaw with A4 flavor symmetry is scanned against 0νββ, dark matter, and leptogenesis constraints, and the normal neutrino mass ordering emerges as favored.
