abstract

We show that a central $1/r^n$ singular potential (with $n\geq 2$) is renormalized by a one-parameter square-well counterterm; low-energy observables are made independent of the square-well width by adjusting the square-well strength. We find a closed form expression for the renormalization-group evolution of the square-well counterterm.

  1. Quark Anti-Quark Fusion and Walking RG Flows

    hep-th 2026-07 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Fusion of conjugate line defects exhibits walking RG at criticality with SL(2,R) Casimir fixing scheme-independent spectrum density, derived exactly in N=4 SYM via Quantum Spectral Curve.

  2. Perturbative calculations of nucleon-deuteron elastic scattering in chiral effective field theory

    nucl-th 2026-02 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A fixed-kernel perturbation framework computes nucleon-deuteron scattering up to next-to-leading order in chiral EFT, benchmarked against wave-packet continuum discretization.

  3. From 2D Yang-Mills to Calogero-Sutherland via a colored particle

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Coupling a colored particle to 2D Yang-Mills on a cylinder reduces the dynamics, for SU(N), to the singular Calogero-Sutherland model.

  4. Auxiliary counterterms and their role in effective field theory

    nucl-th 2026-03 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Auxiliary counterterms provide exact cutoff independence in EFTs but encode no new physics and aid renormalization consistency and convergence.

  5. Effect of Cosmic Neutrino Background on the Dark Matter Self-interaction via Neutrino force

    hep-ph 2025-09 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

The cosmic neutrino background screens the neutrino-pair force between scalar dark matter particles for m_chi below the CnuB temperature, reshaping SIDM parameter space and eliminating Sommerfeld enhancement.
