Semileptonic decays of heavy baryons consisting of one heavy (Q=b,c) and two light (q=u,d,s) quarks are considered in the heavy-quark--light-diquark approximation. The relativistic quasipotential equation is used for obtaining masses and wave functions of both diquarks and baryons within the constituent quark model. The weak transition matrix elements are expressed through the overlap integrals of the baryon wave functions. The Isgur-Wise functions are determined in the whole accessible kinematic range. The exclusive semileptonic decay rates and different asymmetries are calculated with applying the heavy quark 1/m_Q expansion. The evaluated Lambda_b -> Lambda_c l nu decay rate agrees with its experimental value.

    hep-ph 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 5.0

The SU(3) flavor symmetry violation in the extended b to c semileptonic sum rule is smaller than expected future experimental uncertainties, supporting new physics-agnostic consistency checks.

  2. Weak decays of singly heavy baryons: the $1/2\to3/2$ case

    hep-ph 2025-08 conditional novelty 5.0

Form factors and decay widths are computed for 1/2 to 3/2 weak transitions of Omega_c and Omega_b baryons, yielding branching-ratio predictions for semileptonic and nonleptonic modes.

    hep-ph 2025-08 conditional novelty 5.0

A QCD sum rule analysis that includes negative parity baryon states and condensates up to dimension 8 obtains Lambda_b semileptonic branching ratios near 8 percent and predicts Xi_b rates near 14 percent.
