SERVICE CONTRACT
Terms of use
Pith publishes an automated reading record over public scientific papers: machine reviews, extracted claims, and the tools and accounts built around them. Using the site, the API, or the assistant tools means you accept these terms. The entity operating Pith is identified in the colophon.
What the reviews are
Machine reviews are automated assessments produced against the published methodology. They are statements about papers, not about people, and they are not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. A verdict is an input to your own judgment, not a substitute for it. Signed human reviews are the statements of the named reviewer, not of Pith.
Your account and conduct
Signed actions (reviews, challenges, comments, votes) attach to your identity and are your responsibility. Do not misrepresent who you are, interfere with the service, probe or circumvent access controls or rate limits, or scrape outside the documented API and bulk endpoints. Pith may limit or revoke access that breaks these rules.
The public record
Pith is a record. Public contributions may remain in the public, signed, or audit record even after an account is closed; the privacy page explains what can be removed and how to ask.
No warranty
The service is provided as is. Pith does not warrant that reviews are error-free, that coverage is complete, or that the service is uninterrupted. To the fullest extent the law allows, Pith's liability arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for it, which for the public record is nothing.
Changes
These terms may change as the service does; material changes will update this page and its date. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
