Recently a new Lagrangian framework was introduced to describe interactions between scalar fields and relativistic perfect fluids. This allows two consistent generalizations of coupled quintessence models: non-vanishing pressures and a new type of derivative interaction. Here the implications of these to the formation of cosmological large-scale structure are uncovered at the linear order. The full perturbation equations in the two cases are derived in a unified formalism and their Newtonian, quasi-static limit is studied analytically. Requiring the absence of an effective sound speed for the coupled dark matter fluid restricts the Lagrangian to be a linear function of the matter number density. This still leaves new potentially viable classes of both algebraically and derivatively interacting models wherein the coupling may impact the background expansion dynamics and imprint signatures into the large-scale structure.

  1. Disentangling Similarity and Relatedness in Topic Models

    cs.CL 2026-03 conditional novelty 7.0

Topic models lie on a spectrum from thematic-relatedness-rich to similarity-rich, and that position predicts which downstream tasks they handle well.

  2. Phantom-divide crossing and suppressed structure growth in kinetically braided dark energy with momentum exchange

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0

A linearly stable kinetic-braiding dark-energy model with CDM momentum exchange realizes upward phantom-divide crossing and weak CDM gravitational clustering, altering matter and CMB spectra.

  3. Revisiting observational constraints on coupled exponential quintessence with energy and momentum transfers: degeneracy with massive neutrinos

    astro-ph.CO 2026-03 conditional novelty 6.0

Allowing the neutrino mass to vary removes the 2σ evidence for momentum transfer between dark energy and dark matter in coupled quintessence, via a degeneracy with the energy-exchange coupling.

  4. Disentangling Similarity and Relatedness in Topic Models

    cs.CL 2026-03 unverdicted novelty 6.0

Topic-model families occupy distinct positions on a similarity–relatedness plane, and those positions predict which downstream tasks they help or hurt.
