In this letter we revisit the Standard Model predictions for $\mathcal{B}(B\to K^{(\ast)}\nu\bar{\nu})$ and discuss the opportunities that open up when combining its partial decay rate with that of $B\to K^{(\ast)}\ell\ell$. In the Standard Model a suitable ratio of these two modes can be used to extract $C_9^\mathrm{eff}$, which is essential for a reliable phenomenological analysis of the $B\to K^{(\ast)}\ell\ell$ angular observables. The same ratio also proves to be more sensitive to the presence of New Physics in many plausible extensions of the Standard Model. We also suggest that the separate measurement of $\mathcal{B}(B\to K\nu\bar{\nu})$ for high and for low $q^2$'s can be helpful for testing the assumed shape of the vector form factor, because the lattice QCD data are obtained at high $q^2$'s, whereas the low $q^2$ region is obtained through an extrapolation.

  1. Baryon-Meson Sum Rule for $b \to s \nu\bar\nu$

    hep-ph 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 7.0

An exact sum rule connects branching fractions of Lambda_b -> Lambda nu nubar and B -> K(*) nu nubar decays with coefficients identical to those in the b->c tau semileptonic sum rule.

  2. The $B^+ \to K^+ \nu \bar \nu$ decay as a search for the QCD axion

    hep-ph 2025-10 unverdicted novelty 7.0

    Model-independent reinterpretation of Belle II B+ → K+ νν̄ data using public kinematic mapping yields a factor-of-nine improvement on the limit for B+ → K+ a and constrains the axion's b-s flavor-changing coupling.

  3. Challenging Majorana neutrino effects in $B\to K^{(\ast)}\nu\nu$ and $K\to \pi\nu\nu$ decays

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0

Belle-II's B→Kνν excess cannot be explained by dimension-7 lepton-number-violating SMEFT operators without fine-tuning neutrino masses, while a light sterile-neutrino extension can, with testable decay spectra.

  4. Naturally quality-safe GeV axion with charm coupling

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0

Coupling the GeV-scale QCD axion to charm instead of light quarks avoids the isospin problem and yields BR(B→Kσ) ~ 2×10^-5 consistent with Belle II, at the price of a small scalar quartic requiring protection.

  5. Naturally quality-safe GeV axion with charm coupling

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0

    A charm-coupled GeV axion with m_φ ~ 3–4 MeV is quality-safe without extra symmetry, avoids isospin violation, and predicts ΔN_eff ~ −0.1 plus BR(B→Kσ) ~ 2×10^{-5}.

  6. A Dispersive Look at Rare $B$-meson Semileptonic Decays

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0

A global fit of b→s ℓ+ℓ− and b→s νν data finds that hadronic charm-loop effects, not a new short-distance coupling C9, can explain the observed anomalies.

  7. A framework for missing-energy searches with anomalous light vectors

    hep-ph 2026-03 conditional novelty 6.0

For light U(1)X vectors coupled to anomaly-sensitive currents, Wess-Zumino coefficients are fixed by anomaly matching, which lets all missing-energy searches (K, B, D, Z) be mapped onto one (m_X,g_X) plane with minima...

  8. Radiative generation of chiral vector operators in $b\to s \nu\bar{\nu}$ transition

    hep-ph 2026-01 conditional novelty 6.0

Minimal one-loop models that generate both chiral vector operators for b→sνν̄ are systematically classified but cannot quantitatively explain the Belle II anomaly.

  9. A Dispersive Look at Rare $B$-meson Semileptonic Decays

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.5

Lattice-only Dispersive Matrix form factors enlarge large-recoil uncertainties and, with new angular data, favour long-distance hadronic effects over a short-distance C9 New Physics shift.

  10. Dark Matter emission at Belle II and NA62 in Minimal Flavor Violation framework

    hep-ph 2026-01 unverdicted novelty 5.0

A single nearly degenerate dark matter multiplet in the MFV framework can accommodate either the K+ to pi+ nu nubar or B+ to K+ nu nubar excess but not both simultaneously.

  11. Implications of $K\to\pi\nu\bar\nu$ for new physics in $B$ decays

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 4.0

Updated NA62 K+→π+νν̄ data tighten modified-Z and U(2)^5 semileptonic fits and predict KL→π0νν̄ enhanced relative to K+ in the preferred U(2) lobe.

    hep-ph 2025-09 unverdicted novelty 4.0

Predictions for Br(Λ_b → Λ^{(*)} ν ν̄) are 2.07 times the SM value with new physics scale constrained to 2.04–11.76 TeV at 1σ, plus a sum rule linking baryonic and mesonic modes.

  14. Analysis of $B\to KM_X$ and $B\to K^* M_X$ decays in scalar- and vector-mediator dark-matter scenarios

    hep-ph 2025-08 unverdicted novelty 4.0

Belle-II excess in B to K/K* + missing energy is explained by dark matter fermion pair production via scalar or vector mediator, with discrimination possible through decay rate inspections.
