We give an overview of moduli stabilization in compactifications of string theory. We summarize current methods for construction and analysis of vacua with stabilized moduli, and we describe applications to cosmology and particle physics. This is a contribution to the Handbook of Quantum Gravity.

Flux Vacua Near the Boundary of Large Complex Structure
Near the boundary of large complex structure, the first worldsheet instanton can displace flux vacua significantly while higher instantons stay negligible, and such vacua are common in a bounded two-modulus scan.

Non-invertible symmetries in the axiverse, and the imaginary wormholes
Imaginary wormholes and the IDB imply that towers of BPS EFT instantons generate infinitely many superpotential terms that break non-invertible axion shift symmetries in N=1 axiverse models.
-
Constraining the axiverse with reionization
Roughly 10 to 15 percent of explicit string theory axiverse models are disfavored by CMB reionization data unless reheating stayed below about 10^10 GeV.

Simple quintessence models in light of DESI-BAO observations
Thawing quintessence with linear or quadratic potentials is favored over LambdaCDM only when the DESY5 supernova catalog is used; with Pantheon+ or Union3 the preference is mild.

Perturbative K\"ahler Moduli Inflation
Two classes of slow-roll inflation potentials, V0(1+C1 φ^(2/3)) and V0(1-C2 φ^(-2/3)), are derived from perturbative Kähler moduli stabilization and give r below 10^-2 and 10^-8.

Global Asymptotics, the Swampland Conjectures, and Preheating of String Moduli
Global asymptotic shape, not just local curvature, controls tachyonic self-resonant preheating of string moduli, and stochastic light-tower effects mostly smear existing resonance bands.

Fibre Inflation Meets Quintessence: Implications of Perturbative Stabilisation
Adding a base-modulus redefinition to fibre inflation in perturbative LVS shifts (ns, r) into ACT-allowed territory and yields an axion quintessence companion.

Weinberg's theorem, phantom crossing and screening
Graviton-loop-induced screening forces single-field dilaton and chameleon dark energy models to keep their equation of state near -1, making observable phantom crossing impossible in this class.

Coexisting Flux String Vacua from Numerical K\"ahler Moduli Stabilisation
Numerical scans of Type IIB compactifications find single scalar potentials containing coexisting KKLT/LVS and Kahler-uplifted/LVS minima, including AdS, Minkowski, and dS pairs.
