abstract

A formalism to study the mode-by-mode response to the energy deposition of external hard partons propagating in a relativistic fluid is developed, based on a semi-analytical solution of conformal fluid-dynamics. The soft particle production resulting from the jet-medium interaction is calculated and the recoil of the viscous medium is studied for different orientations of the relativistic jets, and for different values of the specific shear viscosity $\eta/s$.

  1. Visualizing How the Structure of Large-Radius Jets Shapes Their Wakes

    hep-ph 2025-01 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Hybrid Model simulations show ATLAS large-radius jet data rule out fully coherent jet energy loss, and low-pT jet-shape observables can visualize merging subjet wakes.

  2. Energy-energy correlators inside single inclusive jets in heavy-ion collisions with CoLBT-hydro model

    hep-ph 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Updated CoLBT-hydro simulations with Q_M=2.0 GeV reproduce CMS in-jet EEC data, validate background subtraction, and show path-length and diffusion-wake effects.

  3. Rapidity asymmetry of jet-hadron correlation as a robust signal of diffusion wake induced by di-jets in high-energy heavy-ion collisions

    hep-ph 2025-01 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Predicts that the rapidity asymmetry of jet-hadron correlations in di-jets with a rapidity gap is a background-free observable for the jet-induced diffusion wake.
