abstract

Black holes are considered to be exceptional due to their time evolution and information processing. However, it was proposed recently that these properties are generic for objects, the so-called saturons, that attain the maximal entropy permitted by unitarity. In the present paper, we verify this connection within a renormalizable $SU(N)$ invariant theory. We show that the spectrum of the theory contains a tower of bubbles representing bound states of $SU(N)$ Goldstones. Despite the absence of gravity, a saturated bound state exhibits a striking correspondence with a black hole: Its entropy is given by the Bekenstein-Hawking formula; semi-classically, the bubble evaporates at a thermal rate with a temperature equal to its inverse radius; the information retrieval time is equal to Page's time. The correspondence goes through a trans-theoretic entity of Poincar\'{e} Goldstone. The black hole/saturon correspondence has important implications for black hole physics, both fundamental and observational.

  1. Soft Oscillons

    hep-th 2025-05 conditional novelty 8.0 of 10

Scalar fields with plateau potentials support soft oscillons: localized, long-lived oscillations with arbitrarily large radius, frequency set by the radius, and evaporation power scaling linearly or quadratically with radius.

  2. Black Hole Memory Burden and its Signatures in Gravitational Waves from Mergers

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Swift memory burden shifts black-hole quasinormal-mode frequencies by an amount set by the memory-load parameter μ and critical exponent p, with μ able to exceed the progenitor's information content.

  3. The fast, the slow and the merging: probes of evaporating memory burdened PBHs

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Diffuse gamma-ray and neutrino data, plus CMB ionization limits, constrain the memory-burden parameters k, q, and delta for primordial black holes and narrow viable dark matter masses to a broad but testable window.

  4. Probing Memory-Burdened Primordial Black Holes with Galactic Sources observed by LHAASO

    astro-ph.CO 2025-05 reject novelty 6.0 of 10

LHAASO spectra of four Galactic sources are used to set upper limits on the abundance of memory-burdened primordial black holes lighter than 10^9 g.

  5. Light scalars in light of UV/IR mixing: classicalization via synergy between Vainshtein and chameleon screenings

    hep-ph 2025-11 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Classicalizing k-essence scalars need m << Λ* and, when potentials or fermion couplings are present, a chameleon-like screening layer to keep Vainshtein screening and classicalon stability intact.

  6. Micro Black Hole Dark Matter

    hep-th 2025-06 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Micro black holes could survive as dark matter down to 10^{-5} Planck masses if extra dimensions or many species strengthen the memory-burden suppression of their evaporation.
