abstract

We explore the generalized $f(R,T)$ modified theory of gravity, where the gravitational Lagrangian is a function of Ricci scalar $R$ and the trace of the energy-momentum tensor $T$. We derive modified field equations to the linear order of perturbations in the context of $f(R,T)$ model. We then investigate the growth of perturbations in the context of $f(R,T)$ modified gravity. Primary numerical investigations based on matter power spectra diagrams indicate a structure growth suppression in $f(R,T)$ gravity, which exhibits consistency with local measurements. Also, we notice that matter-geometry interaction in $f(R,T)$ model would results in the specific feature named as "matter acoustic oscillations" appeared in matter power spectra diagrams. Moreover, we put constraints on the cosmological parameters of $f(R,T)$ model, utilizing current observations, chiefly cosmic microwave background (CMB), weak lensing, supernovae, baryon acoustic oscillations, and redshift-space distortions data. Numerical results based on MCMC calculations imply that $f(R,T)$ is a qualified theory of modified gravity in reconciling Planck CMB data with local probes of large scale structures, by reporting lower values for the structure growth parameter $\sigma_8$ compared to the standard model of cosmology.

  1. Lagrangian Identity and Mass Evolution of Particle-like Objects in Nonminimally Coupled Gravity

    gr-qc 2026-03 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Nambu-Goto p-branes satisfy L_[p]=T_[p]/(p+1), so their rest mass scales as f2^{-p/(p+1)} under nonminimal matter-geometry coupling in FLRW cosmologies.

  2. Joule-Thomson Effect and Geodesic Structure of Charged AdS Black Holes in f(R,T) Coupled with Nonlinear Electrodynamics

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Charge most strongly controls JT inversion and cooling domains of the f(R,T)-NLED AdS black hole; NLED and modified-gravity parameters supply only sub-leading corrections that leave exterior geodesics close to RN-AdS.

  3. Charged black hole solutions in $f(R,T)$ gravity coupled to nonlinear electrodynamics

    gr-qc 2024-11 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

The authors derive a family of charged black hole metrics in f(R,T)=R+βT gravity with Lagrangian L=f0+F+αF^p, show they have curvature singularities at the origin, and use the Sgr A* shadow to place weak upper bounds ...
