Recently we have shown [1604.08812] how to formulate a thermodynamic first law for a single (charged) accelerated black hole in AdS space by fixing the conical deficit angles present in the spacetime. Here we show how to generalise this result, formulating thermodynamics for black holes with varying conical deficits. We derive a new potential for the varying tension defects: the "thermodynamic length", both for accelerating and static black holes. We discuss possible physical processes in which the tension of a string ending on a black hole might vary, and also map out the thermodynamic phase space of accelerating black holes and explore their critical phenomena.

Resolved Maxwell-Boundary Normal Forms and Exact Reentrant Scaling in Accelerating AdS Black Holes
The charged accelerating AdS black hole has an exact reentrant-turning locus for all 0<µ<0.2026, with the pressure and temperature windows vanishing as µ⁴ and µ³ and a universal blow-up profile bT = 2√bP − bP.

Thermodynamics of charged and accelerating black holes
For charged accelerating AdS black holes in Maxwell, ModMax, and RegMax theories, topological renormalization of the Euclidean action differs from holographic renormalization by 2πℓ²μ₊T when the total cosmic string te...

Charged accelerating black hole in $f(R)$ gravity
A charged, slowly accelerating AdS black hole in f(R) gravity is constructed and shown to satisfy a first law, with an eta-dependent thermodynamic volume and a reverse isoperimetric inequality that allows super-entrop...

Metallic transports from accelerating black holes
For accelerating AdS black holes, a holographic D-brane calculation gives resistivity scaling T^{2/3} and T^{-1/3}, interpreted as a z=3 quantum liquid phase.
