These notes give an elementary introduction to Lie groups, Lie algebras, and their representations. Designed to be accessible to graduate students in mathematics or physics, they have a minimum of prerequisites. Topics include definitions and examples of Lie groups and Lie algebras, the relationship between Lie groups and Lie algebras via the exponential mapping, the basics of representations theory, the Baker-Campbell-Hausdorff formula, a detailed study of the representations of SU(3), and a brief survey of the representation theory of general semisimple groups.

  1. Non-Abelian Symmetry Operators from Hanging Branes in $AdS_5 \times S^5$

    hep-th 2025-10 conditional novelty 7.0

In AdS5×S5, non-Abelian SO(6) symmetry operators are realized by hanging D5-brane–KK-monopole bound states, matching the Gauss-law operators from the low-energy supergravity action.

  2. Diffusion-based Annealed Boltzmann Generators : benefits, pitfalls and hopes

    stat.ML 2026-01 conditional novelty 6.0

Even a perfect diffusion model yields poor annealed Boltzmann generators when coupled through first-order stochastic denoising kernels, while deterministic transport maps and second-order kernels improve; with learned...

    cs.CL 2025-09 reject novelty 4.0

HoPE replaces RoPE's sine/cosine rotations with hyperbolic functions plus an exponential damping term to enforce monotonic attention decay, but the claimed consistent superiority and the 'RoPE as special case' theorem...
