abstract
In the framework of the Hard Thermal Loop effective theory, we calculate the two-loop contributions to hard lepton pair production in a quark-gluon plasma. We show that the result is free of any infrared and collinear singularity. We also recover the known fact that perturbation theory leads to integrable singularities at the location of the threshold for $q\bar{q}\to\gamma^*$. It appears that the process calculated here significantly enhances the rate of low mass hard dileptons.

Thermal dilepton polarization and dynamics of the QCD plasma in relativistic heavy-ion collisions
Using next-to-leading-order rates, the paper predicts that dilepton polarization changes sign and magnitude in low and intermediate invariant-mass ranges, making it a sensitive probe of gluonic processes and pre-equil...

The polarization of thermal dileptons emitted in high-energy heavy-ion collisions
Thermal dilepton polarization in LHC heavy-ion collisions is sensitive to QGP in-medium properties, with a one-to-one mapping derived between dielectron and dimuon channels.

Beyond leading-logarithm photon production from two-loop diagrams in a hot QCD medium
Two-loop imaginary-time QCD self-energies yield the same hard-photon LL and BLL rates as kinetic theory for Compton and qq̄ annihilation, with topology II vanishing on-shell but restoring the Ward identity.
