We perform a systematic study of the fermionic DM absorption interactions on electron target in the context of effective field theory. The fermionic DM absorption is not just sensitive to sub-MeV DM with efficient energy release, but also gives a unique signature with clear peak in the electron recoil spectrum whose shape is largely determined by the atomic effects. Fitting with the Xenon1T and PandaX-II data prefers DM mass at $m_\chi = 59$keV and 105keV, respectively, while the cut-off scale is probed up to around 1TeV. The DM overproduction in the early Universe, the invisible decay effect on the cosmological evolution, and the astrophysical X(gamma)-ray from the DM visible decays are thoroughly explored to give up-to-date constraints. With stringent bounds on the tensor and pseudo-scalar operators, the other fermionic DM operators are of particular interest at tonne-scale direct detection experiments such as PandaX-4T, XENONnT, and LZ.

  1. MeV Electrophilic Axion-like Particles from Sun

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0

MeV axion-like particles could be made when 5.5 MeV solar fusion photons Compton-scatter off electrons; current LZ, PandaX-4T and Borexino data would then constrain g_ae to (1.7-3.7)e-6 in the 0.4-1 MeV window.

  2. Probing Light Dark Particles in Neutrino Scattering Experiments

    hep-ph 2026-02 conditional novelty 5.0

A dark fermion produced in neutrino scattering could be probed at DUNE's near detector up to cutoff scales near 1 TeV, beyond CHARM II and LEP, while current COHERENT/CONUS+ limits stay below LHC bounds.

  3. Constraints on Fermionic Dark Matter Absorption from Radiochemical Solar-Neutrino Measurements

    hep-ph 2026-02 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Reanalysis of solar neutrino capture rates yields 90% upper limits of 0.39-0.59 SNU on fermionic dark matter induced contributions, mapping to y bounds of 4.9-7.1 x 10^{-49} cm^2 at 1 MeV dark matter mass.
