We consider late-time cosmology in a (phantom) scalar-tensor theory with an exponential potential, as a dark energy model with equation of state parameter close to -1 (a bit above or below this value). Scalar (and also other kinds of) matter can be easily taken into account. An exact spatially-flat FRW cosmology is constructed for such theory, which admits (eternal or transient) acceleration phases for the current universe, in correspondence with observational results. Some remarks on the possible origin of the phantom, starting from a more fundamental theory, are also made. It is shown that quantum gravity effects may prevent (or, at least, delay or soften) the cosmic doomsday catastrophe associated with the phantom, i.e. the otherwise unavoidable finite-time future singularity (Big Rip). A novel dark energy model (higher-derivative scalar-tensor theory) is introduced and it is shown to admit an effective phantom/quintessence description with a transient acceleration phase. In this case, gravity favors that an initially insignificant portion of dark energy becomes dominant over the standard matter/radiation components in the evolution process.

  1. Distance duality relation in symmetric teleparallel gravity

    gr-qc 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

In symmetric teleparallel f(Q) gravity with nonminimal EM-nonmetricity coupling, the distance duality relation is dynamically violated, yielding a generalized formula relating observational distances to the Hubble rate.

  2. Interacting phantom dark energy: new accelerating scaling attractors

    gr-qc 2024-11 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Interacting phantom dark energy with two previously underused potentials admits new stable late-time accelerating solutions in which dark matter and dark energy coexist.

  3. Equivalent Hamiltonian approach to quantum cosmology of integrable models

    gr-qc 2019-08 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

For two integrable minisuperspace cosmologies, the paper constructs equivalent Hamiltonians via Faddeev-Jackiw reduction and uses them to study quantum wave packets and Wigner functions.

  4. Resolving Hubble Tension with Quintom Dark Energy Model

    gr-qc 2019-08 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

A small negative-density component with equation of state 1/3≤w≤1 can lift H0 from 67.4 to about 74, but the coupled quintom model realizing it either misses the CMB peak or gives H0=68.55.

  5. Integrability of $R^2$ gravity cosmological models with radiation

    gr-qc 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 4.0 of 10

Derives general solution to □R=0 in R² gravity plus radiation in flat FLRW and establishes integrability of the scalar-field and conformal chiral versions.

  6. Effective Phantom Dark Energy: What Cosmological Reconstruction Does and Does Not Imply

    astro-ph.CO 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 3.0 of 10

Effective phantom dark energy is a background-level reconstruction that does not imply fundamental pathologies such as ghost instabilities or null energy condition violation by the underlying stress tensor.
