Miriad is a radio interferometry data-reduction package, designed for taking raw data through to the image analysis stage. The Miriad project, begun in 1988, is now middle-aged. With the wisdom of hindsight, we review design decisions and some of Miriad's characteristics.

  1. IXPE Polarizations of the Lighthouse Pulsar, Trail, and Filament

    astro-ph.HE 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 7.0

IXPE detects 55% polarization in the filament with EVPA aligned to the filament axis, implying ordered magnetic field and low turbulence, plus orthogonal X-ray and radio polarization in the trail.

  2. IXPE Polarizations of the Lighthouse Pulsar, Trail, and Filament

    astro-ph.HE 2026-04 accept novelty 7.0

IXPE detects 55% polarization in the filament with B-field aligned along its axis, orthogonal X-ray and radio polarization in the trail indicating separate lepton populations, and a rotating vector model fit for the pulsar.

  3. SDSSJ110546.07+145202.4: The first long-duration radio changing-look NLS1 galaxy

    astro-ph.HE 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 7.0

SDSSJ110546.07+145202.4 is the first known long-duration radio changing-look NLS1 galaxy whose outburst is explained by an accretion-rate change that triggered a powerful radio jet.

  4. Sub-kpc scale gas density histograms of the nearby barred spiral galaxy M83: Multi-component molecular gas structure reflecting the galactic environment

    astro-ph.GA 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Molecular gas in M83 consists of two log-normal density components, with the high-density component enhanced along spiral arms and more tightly linked to star formation than the low-density component.

  5. The MeerKAT Fornax Survey VII. Characterisation of the Fornax cluster's magnetic field and new insights on magnetisation in large scale systems

    astro-ph.CO 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Fornax cluster magnetic field follows a power-law spectrum of slope ~2.7 with central strength ~5 μG scaling as n^1.6, consistent with recent central re-amplification and trends across 17 clusters.

  6. Clusters Hiding Under Millimeter Sources (CHUMS) I: Extreme CHUMS

    astro-ph.CO 2026-05 conditional novelty 4.0

AGN emission from central galaxies hides galaxy clusters in SZ surveys; CARMA-based subtraction recovers high-SNR detections in ACT maps for three specific clusters.
