abstract

We study quasinormal modes of massive scalar and massless Dirac fields in the background of regular black holes and traversable wormholes arising in Covariant Effective Quantum Gravity. Using both the JWKB approximation and time-domain integration, we analyze the impact of quantum corrections on the quasinormal spectra and late-time behavior of perturbations. Our results reveal the existence of slowly decaying, oscillatory tails and quasi-resonant modes in the scalar sector, particularly in the high-mass regime. In the fermionic case, the damping rate increases with the quantum correction parameter $ \xi $, while the oscillation frequency decreases. We also observe pronounced echo-like structures in the time-domain profiles near the black hole-wormhole threshold. These findings provide insight into the dynamics of perturbations in quantum-corrected spacetimes and offer potential signatures for distinguishing black holes from wormholes in future gravitational wave observations.

  3. Long-Lived Quasinormal Modes and Quasi-Resonances around Non-Minimal Einstein-Yang-Mills Black Holes

    gr-qc 2025-05 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Massive scalar fields around non-minimal Einstein-Yang-Mills black holes can form arbitrarily long-lived quasi-resonances in flat space, but not in de Sitter space; an analytic large-mass frequency formula is given.

  4. Time Evolution of Black Hole Perturbations in Quadratic Gravity

    gr-qc 2025-05 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Gravitational perturbations of Einstein-Weyl black holes show late-time oscillatory tails decaying as t^{-5/6} and break the null-geodesic correspondence in the eikonal regime.

  5. Non-Minimal Einstein-Yang-Mills Black Holes: Fundamental Quasinormal Mode and Grey-Body factors versus Outburst of Overtones

    gr-qc 2025-04 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

For non-minimal Einstein-Yang-Mills black holes, the fundamental quasinormal mode stays Schwarzschild-like but the first overtones deviate sharply, with the ℓ=0 second overtone's real frequency tending to zero as the ...

  6. Quasinormal spectra of higher dimensional regular black holes in theories with infinite curvature corrections

    gr-qc 2025-09 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

For six families of higher-dimensional regular black holes, positive higher-curvature coupling reduces quasinormal-mode oscillation frequencies and damping rates, a trend verified at low and eikonal multipoles.

    gr-qc 2025-05 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

For one effective quantum gravity black hole model (BH-I), the quantum parameter shifts periodic orbits and delays gravitational wave phase, while for the other model (BH-II) the effect is negligible, making BH-I pote...

    gr-qc 2025-11 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10
