We give the formulation of the gravitational lensing theory in the strong field limit for a Schwarzschild black hole as a counterpart to the weak field approach. It is possible to expand the full black hole lens equation to work a simple analytical theory that describes at a high accuracy degree the physics in the strong field limit. In this way, we derive compact and reliable mathematical formulae for the position of additional critical curves, relativistic images and their magnification, arising in this limit.

    gr-qc 2026-02 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Rotating black holes with primary scalar hair in beyond Horndeski gravity produce shadows whose diameter increases for negative Q and whose distortion increases for positive Q, with EHT bounds on M87* restricting but ...

  2. Hadronic lensing

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

In a pion condensate, photons behave as massive particles and gravitational lensing gains a hadronic correction; the paper derives the modified ray equations and the deflection formula for a pionic-vortex black hole.

  3. Photon Surfaces in Higher-Curvature Gravity: Implications for Quasinormal Modes and Gravitational Lensing

    gr-qc 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Higher-curvature EFT terms modify the photon sphere radius, critical impact parameter, and strong deflection coefficients, providing sensitive probes for constraints on quantum gravity effects via lensing and QNM spectra.

  4. Strong field gravitational lensing of particles by a black-bounce-Schwarzschild black hole

    gr-qc 2026-02 accept novelty 5.0 of 10

For a black-bounce-Schwarzschild black hole, the paper derives the strong-deflection lensing observables for massive particles and quantifies how they differ from photon lensing.

  5. Analytical Study of Deflection Angle and Time Delay in Kerr Spacetime with Modified Propagation

    gr-qc 2026-07 reject novelty 4.0 of 10

The paper asserts analytic strong-lensing deflection and time-delay formulas for Kerr black holes with Weyl-modified photon propagation, but the derivation is incomplete and internally inconsistent.

  6. Polarization-Dependent Photon Propagation, Quasinormal Modes, and Gravitational Lensing in Higher-Curvature Effective Theories

    gr-qc 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 4.0 of 10

Higher-curvature corrections induce polarization-dependent effective metrics for photons that shift photon spheres, alter eikonal quasinormal modes, and modify deflection angles in static spherically symmetric backgrounds.

  7. Probing Effective Field Theory Corrections with Quasinormal Modes and Gravitational Lensing in Reissner-Nordstr\"om Black Holes

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 4.0 of 10

Derives EFT corrections to deflection angle, photon sphere radius, critical impact parameter, and strong lensing coefficients for Reissner-Nordström black holes in weak and strong deflection regimes.

  8. Semi-Analytic Trajectory Analysis of Light in Generic Static Spacetimes

    gr-qc 2025-07 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

The authors present a generic weak-field lensing framework built from three known semi-analytic methods and apply it to a scalar hairy Reissner-Nordstrom black hole, recovering the standard deflection with q^2 = Q^2+Q_s^2.

  9. Strong gravitational lensing by black hole in F(R) Euler Heisenberg Gravity's Rainbow

    astro-ph.GA 2025-07 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Applying the strong deflection limit to the F(R)-Euler-Heisenberg-Rainbow black hole gives lensing observables that increase with the Euler-Heisenberg parameter and decrease with charge.
